Our modern day world is switched on 24/7. This plays havoc with our inherent biological rhythms. The body has a natural detoxification system but we are exposed to environmental pollutants from industry, manufacturing and more; we have compromised food sources, preservatives, pesticides, chemicals, plastics, electro-magnetic pollutants and on and on the list goes…. so the body requires a helping hand to efficiently detoxify.
Unless we can digest our experiences from life being constantly “on”– we accumulate. This accumulation of living forms a metabolic sludge: a partially digested substance that is heavy and sticky and creates blockages, dullness and fatigue in both body and mind.
Inflammation is the key indicator of the body being overwhelmed with both metabolic accumulation and environmental stressors. Inflammation may express itself as painful joints, irritated skin, upset digestion or more chronic presentations such as auto-immune conditions, to name a few.
With regular cleansing we assist the body to clear this accumulation of modern living away. And the best place to start is by cleaning up your diet. What foods cause more inflammation? Which foods pacify and calm an overloaded system? It can be overwhelming to navigate. In this workshop will explore how and when to cleanse, what foods, herbs and spices to favour and avoid and ways to effectively cleansed based on your unique needs.

Workshop Host Bio.
With over two decades of cooking professionally in six different countries and a decade of study and experience as an ayurvedic practitioner, Phillipa brings a vast knowledge of nutrition and cooking to her workshops. She is passionate about educating people about how to use food as medicine: sharing the wisdom of Ayurveda for all to achieve balanced health through diet and lifestyle.
She cooks at health retreats regularly, runs a small clinical practice offering health consultations and therapeutic treatments in Coburg and offers workshops and events on topics such as Ayurveda, yoga and holistic wellness.
